Key takeaways

  • DoorDash issues Form 1099-NEC to Dashers, because it pays you directly for your services.
  • Threshold: $600 for 2025, $2,000 for payments made in 2026.
  • Find it in the Dasher app or portal by January 31; forms for 2023 and earlier stay in Stripe Express.
  • Box 1 includes base pay, Peak Pay, promotions and in-app tips. It does not include any of your expenses or miles.

"Where is my DoorDash 1099?" is one of the most common questions Dashers ask every January. The answer depends on the tax year, and the form itself is simpler than it looks. Here is what you need to know.

Please note

General information as of October 2026, based on DoorDash's and Stripe's published information and IRS rules; not tax advice. Platform menus can change from year to year.

DoorDash makes the form available by January 31. If you agreed to electronic delivery you get it online; otherwise it is mailed to the address on file.

What your DoorDash 1099-NEC shows

  • Box 1, nonemployee compensation: the total DoorDash paid you in the year, including base pay, Peak Pay, challenges and promotions, and tips customers added in the app.
  • Payer information: DoorDash's name and taxpayer ID.
  • Your information: the name, address and taxpayer ID (SSN or EIN) from your tax profile.

The form does not list your mileage, phone costs or any other expense. Those you track and deduct yourself. Because customers, not Dashers, pay DoorDash's service fees, there are usually no platform fees to subtract from Box 1, unlike a rideshare 1099-K.

No 1099 from DoorDash?

  • You earned less than the threshold: no form is required, but the income is still taxable. Use your earnings history in the Dasher app.
  • Your tax information is incomplete: check that your legal name, address and SSN or EIN are correct in your account.
  • You are looking in the wrong place: 2024 and later are in the Dasher app or portal; 2023 and earlier in Stripe Express.

Even below the threshold you must file once your net earnings from self-employment reach $400. See the $400 rule explained; it applies to all gig apps.

If your 1099 is wrong

If your name, SSN or the amount is wrong, contact DoorDash support and ask for a corrected form. Compare Box 1 with the yearly total in your earnings history first. Small differences between Box 1 and your bank deposits are normal, for example because of Fast Pay fees or payments made in late December that arrived in January.

How to report your DoorDash 1099 on your tax return

  1. Schedule C, line 1: enter the Box 1 amount as gross receipts, plus any DoorDash income not on the form, such as cash tips.
  2. Expenses: subtract mileage or actual car costs, phone share, bags, parking and other business costs. The full list is in our DoorDash tax guide.
  3. Schedule SE: calculate self-employment tax on your net profit.
  4. Form 8995 for the QBI deduction and Schedule 1-A for the tips deduction.

Example

Box 1 shows $18,400, including $5,200 in tips. You drove 9,000 business miles, split evenly between the two halves of 2026, for a mileage deduction of $6,683, plus $500 in other costs. Net profit is $11,217. Self-employment tax: $11,217 × 92.35% × 15.3% = $1,585. Your $5,200 in tips can be deducted on Schedule 1-A to reduce income tax.

If you also deliver for other apps

You receive separate forms from each platform: for example a 1099-NEC from DoorDash, Instacart or Amazon Flex and a 1099-K or 1099-NEC from Uber. Add all gig income to Schedule C (one Schedule C for similar delivery work is fine) and count each mile only once. Our 1099 tax guide explains all the forms.
