Editorial Policy
Money decisions deserve reliable information. These are the standards every guide on CarefreeCredits.com has to meet.
Last updated:
Our principles
- Accuracy first. Facts, figures and rules are checked against primary sources before publication.
- Independence. Advertisers and partners have no influence on what we write, how we evaluate products or what we recommend.
- Clarity. We write for readers, not for search engines or sales funnels. We explain trade-offs and risks as clearly as benefits.
- Transparency. We disclose how we make money and label advertising and affiliate links.
How we research
We rely on primary and authoritative sources wherever possible. These include central banks (such as the Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank and the Bank of England), financial regulators and deposit insurers (such as the CFPB, FDIC, SEC, FCA and FSCS), official statistics, product terms and conditions published by providers, and peer-reviewed research.
When we use numbers in examples, we show the assumptions and the calculation. Examples are illustrations, not predictions or offers.
How we write and review
Each article is drafted, fact-checked and edited before it is published. We may use software tools, including AI-assisted research, drafting and proofreading tools, but every article is reviewed and approved by our editorial team, which is responsible for its content. We do not publish content solely to rank for keywords.
Keeping content up to date
Interest rates, fees, regulations and tax rules change. We review our guides regularly and when important changes happen. Every article shows its publication date and, when it was revised, the date of the last update.
Corrections
If you find an error, please tell us via our contact page. We check every report, correct verified errors promptly and update the article's revision date. Significant corrections are noted in the article.
Advertising and affiliate links
CarefreeCredits.com is financed by advertising (Google AdSense) and, in some cases, affiliate partnerships. Ads are clearly separated from editorial content. Articles that contain affiliate links carry a notice at the top. Sponsored content, if we ever publish it, will always be labeled as such. Read our full advertising disclosure.
No personal advice
Our guides provide general information to help you understand your options. They are not personal financial, investment, tax or legal advice. See our disclaimer.
